This project started as an experiment to see what kind of skills guitarist Jim Lawson still had after being diagnosed with a rare brain condition in 2018, and experiencing several life-threatening conditions, including a major stroke. Donna and bass player Matt Lawson started getting together with him, just to see what would happen, and lo and behold, he could play again. This was pretty miraculous considering he couldn’t walk or talk at first. Playing together turned out to be a fun project. Added Dale Eaton on keys, Greg Cardell on drums, Larry Bloomfield on harmonica, and voila, Donna Rose & The Wayward Souls!
